佛利爾美術館及上海博物館藏《淳化閣帖》（簡稱佛利爾本及潘祖純跋本）是極罕有的兩套完整宋拓《閣帖》十卷本，對於《閣帖》版本的斷代研究非常重要。本文透過考察佛利爾本的流傳經過，初步確認其拓印年代。接著觀察帖心銀錠紋、卷號與刻工小名的數目及位置，將佛利爾本、潘祖純跋本及其他傳世宋拓刻帖，包括《十七帖》、《大觀帖》、《寶晉齋法帖》及《澄清堂帖》，以相同帖目作逐行逐字排比校勘，從存帖數目、帖次、帖文的異同，初步斷定潘祖純跋本為宋代版本，否定前人指潘本為後世修繕本的說法。為探討佛利爾本及潘祖純跋本的關係，本研究進一步將二本對校，從帖文、斷行、缺行、缺字、缺畫、牽絲及裝裱的嚴謹程度等方面比較，並以現存《大觀帖》的北宋拓本特徵作旁證，輔以文獻及法帖流傳情況等客觀證據，將潘祖純跋本以及與此本同出於一石的北京故宮藏懋勤殿本定為北宋晚期（十一世紀前後）拓本，佛利爾本上限則為南宋初期（約十二世紀初至中期），並澄清潘祖純跋本不屬於佛利爾本系統。最後，期望本文的拓本研究方法，有助於判斷其他年代未明的《閣帖》版本。

The two sets of the Chunhua Ge Model Letters in the Freer Gallery of Art (Freer version) and the Shanghai Museum (the version inscribed by Pan Zuchun or Pan version) are two of the earliest rubbings of its kind. They play a key role in identifying the prototype and dating later re-engraving versions of the Chunhua Ge Model Letters. The study firstly deals with the collection history of the Freer version in order to determine the upper and lower limits of the date of its production. Special features of the two versions such as silver marks, marking of volume-number and name of engravers are examined. Afterward, lines with the same characters of the two versions are chosen for examination with other authentic Song model letters such as Shiqi Tie, Daguan Tie, Bao-jin-zhai Fatie, Cheng-qing-tang Tie. Comparison of the differences and variations in layout of characters, omitted characters and brush strokes are conducted line by line, as well as character by character on the computer. The result suggests that both Freer and Pan version should be dated as Song rubbing. Finally, shapes of strokes in both versions are compared and it is found that the Pan version retains the brush moment more precisely. It is undoubted that the Pan version is earlier than the Freer version and it is not a retouch copy of later period nor a recut copy of Freer version as some scholars claimed. It is believed that the case study of the Freer version and the research method developed can help to clarify other undated versions of Chunhua Ge Model Letters.
